Returning parents:

I need to know what jersey number your child has ASAP -- tomorrow if possible. That’s so when I pick up our two new uniforms, we won’t have duplicate numbers.

For those of you who have had kids in BSL soccer before the Fall season, they’re doing uniforms differently this year. All teams will have the same uniforms, each team getting a “home” and a “visiting” jersey. If it’s the same as it was in the Fall, we will wear the RED jerseys for home games and the WHITE jerseys for visiting games. It’s probably best to just keep both jerseys with you at all times, just in case.

All parents:

When we get the game schedule, I will include a snack schedule for each game, just going down my team roster. If anyone has a conflict (vacation, etc.), please let me know and/or find another parent to switch with. Snacks include water, juice, or sports drink, and a snack like goldfish, cookies, etc.

*If any of you have children with food allergies, please let me know so I can notify other parents to avoid certain snacks.

My name is Steve Patterson, and I’m the U5-Girls soccer coach for the team our daughters are on.  My wife Beth and I, and our three daughters moved here in 2005 from Charleston, SC.  However, we were just returning to the area after 15 years; we both graduated from Brandon High School.  I work for the State of Mississippi ITS Department, and am a member of the Brandon Lions Club.

The players on our team this year are:

* Kate
* Jordan
* Conerly
* Gabby
* Emily
* Paige

The practice and the game schedules are still being finalized, but I’ll pass it on as soon as I get it.  The season opens with our first game on February 14th.  Returning players will use the same uniforms.  I’ll pick up two new uniforms this Saturday for our new players.  

For those of you who haven’t ever been to the soccer fields, I’ve attached a picture in the Shared Public Folder in that will hopefully help.  To get to the fields, from the frontage road that runs along the south side of Highway 80 in Brandon in front of the Hummer and Chevrolet dealerships, turn into the parking lot for the Family Health Care Clinic (directly across Hwy 80 from Sears), and go around the clinic all the way to the rear parking lot area.  You’ll see the fields on the right.

For practices, each girl will need to bring the following to every practice:

* appropriate athletic attire (and jackets/sweats)
* shin guards (*mandatory* for games and practices, per BSL rules)
* soccer ball (size 3)
* soccer cleats (soccer cleats do not have a cleat in the center toe area)
* a drink (water or any sport drink – we will take a LOT of water breaks)
